UK Top Summer Destinations?

Despite what we say about the weather here, we do actually get some decent weather most summers in the UK.  It might be interlaced with the odd day of rain, but on the whole we can enjoy some reasonable weather.

Whatever the weather is doing though, it’s good to head out somewhere for a UK break during the summer.  And there are plenty of good destinations to choose from as well.  Keep the following in mind as you explore the possibilities of staying in the UK during the summer.

The Lake District

Lake Windermere, Lake Ullswater and many more besides – this is a taste of what the Lake District has to offer you.

Just imagine how you can enjoy exploring this area, with long and short walks galore, pretty towns and villages to see and shopping and activities as well.  Whatever you want from a great holiday, you will be sure to find it here.

The Yorkshire Dales

If getting away from it all is your top priority, the Yorkshire Dales will certainly help you in that respect. They are spread over a wide area, giving you the chance to see lots of different villages and areas to visit while you are there.

Dartmoor

The weather here can sometimes get dodgy even when it is nice everywhere else, so be prepared for this if you head onto the moor down in Devon.

This is a good location to pick for hiking and biking trips, as you’ve got plenty of roads and tracks to explore.  Just be sure to take a map and avoid boggy areas at all costs.

City breaks

From York to Bath and Edinburgh to London, there are countless different cities all over the UK you can enjoy during the summer.  There are always green areas to find and enjoy during the warmer months, so why not make the most of it and enjoy an impromptu picnic in the middle of all the hustle and bustle?  There are always quieter spots to find and take advantage of.

Seaside locations

Of course, if it’s the middle of summer and you want to cool off in style, you have only to pick one of the main seaside locations in the UK to enjoy.  Dip your toes into the sea at Blackpool, Brighton or Newquay for starters, and don’t forget all the different options further north as well.

Some Holiday Destinations in UK also have rides and other attractions to enjoy while you are making the most of that sea breeze, so be sure to explore in full.

Whatever kind of summer break you want to take in the UK it’s good to know it has everything you could want from a summer holiday.  From a couple of days off work to the full two weeks, don’t assume you always have to go abroad to get the best from your holiday.
